I will never forget the first time I saw this.

One of rock's greatest triumphs. I bought my brother the vinyl version a few years ago. A little pricey, but it was worth it.

Ride The Lightning really is one of rock greatest triumphs and a massive landmark in hard rock/metal history.  Yeah, I love the title track as well, but my favorite tracks off of RTL is Fade To Black, Escape, Creeping Death and The Call Of Ktulu. The weakest track would probably be Trapped Under Ice...but you can't really go wrong with any of the tracks off of RTL.

That's very cool of you to buy the vinyl for this album for your brother.

I'd also nominate Mike Judge's King Of The Hill. I’ve always felt KOTH was the only real spiritual successor to The Simpsons and while I'm a huge fan of Mike Judge's work (Beavis & Butt-Head, Office Space, Idiocracy), KOTH has always been his best work to me and was an incredibly wholesome show. Here is the theme song:

When this song was first released as a single in 1967, "Nights in White Satin", didn't make much of an impression. By 1968 television music shows from Europe were securing a regular schedule slot on U.S. televisions stations and the recorded-live performance of Justin Hayward and The Moody Blues on "Beat-Club" became The-Talk-Of-The-Town!

King of the Hill is a real funny, feel-good series. It was always an awesome part of Sunday nights. Boomhauer's my man. I mean, who doesn't love Boomhauer?

@edd:

It's a shame a good, moving song like this didn't make much of an impression at first. It really is. But it's great that it became one of the best known songs in the music world.

ICEE

Let's hear it for the ICEE bear! Whether you're at the mall, movie theater or the convenience store, you can always find that familiar blue and red ICEE logo and bear. For many, many years, this has been a favorite among frozen treat lovers. It always came in fun, delicious flavors like cherry, blueberry and Coca Cola. And it still remains the number one slushee brand. More than worthy of being in The Retro Hall of Fame.

Isn't ICEE cool?

You can say that Again! Boomhauer is a real character. Great choice MM.

Here's another character, the Old 49er on the "Devil's Mine" amusement ride. Just a taste of what computer graphics could do as the 21st century got closer.

They've sold out concerts since like, the 70s. They've sold 100 million albums. They're one of the biggest names in music and pop culture. Did I mention they have an arena football team named after them? They are KISS!!!!!!!!!

Ever heard the Destroyer album? Well, check this out.
