If there was a real life Retro Hall of Fame, I think this should be one of the first nominees.

Nice one, MM.

Barbie gets my vote too. The magic of Barbie was her appearance - she was an adult. Before Barbie, dolls all looked like baby dolls with cutie-pie faces, a style that went back to the 1800's.

Barbie gave girls a dream come true, to be all grown up.

Compare Barbie with Tammy, the competitor from the Ideal Toy Company. Tammy has an old-fashioned "baby face" that couldn't hold a candle to Barbie. Like other Barbie wanna be's, Tammy was much cheaper to buy compared to the expensive Barbie, but that made Barbie all the more desirable.

Quizno's Subs!!!:

The first time I had been to Quizno's was when I first moved to Tallahassee in 2002 and the last time I ate there was 2010 before all the Quizno's locations around here all closed up. Back in the 2000's, this was me and my family's go-to-sub place and we LOVED their subs.

Only two locations remain in the Seattle area and both are quite a drive from my location. Still the best sandwich shop in my opinion. Maybe they will make a comback and open more stores again.

It's a shame Tammy didn't have the same success as Barbie did. I like the song from the ad, though.

There was the "Tammy" movie series from 1957 and a "Tammy" TV series in 1965. The "Tammy" doll simply wasn't in the same league as Barbie, but I sure liked the TV series as a kid.

I'd nominate the Majin Buu Saga from Dragon Ball Z:

Majin Buu is a scary dude. If he turns you into chocolate, you're through.

From 1967 . . . to the 21st Century. I was a 10 year old kid, standing on the edge of Forever.

Krystal

They say the best things comes in small packages. And it's true. Krystal (Or the White Castle of the South, as I call it.) isn't just a restaurant. It's a lifetime of memories for me and anyone else who's eaten there a long, long time. My #1 meal there had always been five Krystals with no onions, two Krystal Chiks, fries and Coke. I sure do dig this "Fresh, Hot, Small Square"

Mr Magic, I loved Krystal back in the day. Good fast food joint choice there.

Here is another music nomination, music-related. It's RHCP's Californication album (the perfect album to listen to during summertime):

I love RHCP in general, but I wish included this album and ranked it at #1 on my Top 4 RHCP Albums for my RHCP article I made on here. I honestly don't know what I was thinking by not including the Californication album and not ranking it at #1 at the time I made that article, yet One Hot Minute made my Top 4.
