Funny thing is, in my realm, Willies is in my hometown in Ohio. But it's not called Willies. It's called McDonald's.

Outback Steakhouse.

I don't go there that much and we have one right here in town.

I wouldn't really count Outback as a "burger joint" though. They're more of a... well... steakhouse concept. But they do have good burgers.

Yes, steaks are their specialty, aren't they?

Now, for a place where burgers are specialized:

Steak 'n Shake.

It's a steak place too, but "steakburgers" are their thing. An old-time 1930s burger joint where you can bet you'll get your burgers worth.

There is just one Backyard Burger in all of North Carolina. It's a forty-five minute drive from me, but its worth it. I try to hit it up at least once a month.

Boone NC?

Nope, all the ones in the mountains closed down. Only one remains in Raleigh.

There used to be a place in town called Rocket Burger, but they specialized in tofu. Yuck!

One of my favorites for sure!

Another favorite of mine is The Billygoat. I have hurt my jaw from trying to eat one of their burgers so fast, that's how good it is. You might recognize it from a classic Saturday Night Live skit.

My favorite burger for the past few years has been the whiskey river burger from Red Robin.

Five Guys is okay, but a little too greasy for me.

At least once a year, I have to hit a White Castle if we travel through Ohio. I have a soft spot for those little burgers. We can buy frozen ones at the grocery stores around here in Buffalo, but it's just not the same.

There is a place called Court Street Grill here that serves what is apparently a burger to die for. I've never tasted it, so I can't say, but people here are in love with it. It's called the "Bungtown Burger". It's special topping is actually available in local stores here by the bottle.

You can also buy "Mothman Wings". Because, you know, we just can't get enough Mothman related stuff around here.

A Bungtown Burger sounds like a winner.

So does Hardee's. It has a good selection of burgers. Maybe you would prefer a 1/4 lb. Little Thick Cheeseburger or something bigger like a Monster Thickburger. You should try one of their biscuits too. They're amazing!

I like their current look.

But I loved the classic look. Simple and refreshing.
