Ugh, that kid's stupid smile...I believe that is...Dragon Power. Or as I call it, Crapon Power

Yes, Dragon Power. A fun fact about the game, it was originally a Dragonball game during it's Japanese release, but when they released it in North America, all Dragonball references were removed since the franchise was not released in North America... at least, not yet. That smiling kid you play in the North American version is really Goku in the Japanese release.

You're up, steak.

Super Nintendo Faceball

Correct. The full title is Faceball 2000, but it was for Super Nintendo and that is obviously close enough!
This terrible (albeit sort of ambitious for its time) game was based on a slightly more playable, slightly less horribly dated game for Atari ST called MIDI Maze. Faceball 2000 had a poster and review in Nintendo Power #30. There was also a Game Boy version. I am a little bit ashamed to admit that this game influenced my drawing style for a few months. I can salve some of the pain by pointing out that I had never actually played it at the time. Plus I was a complete dork and in 7th grade. So, uh, everything from then is embarrassing. Hm, that part doesn't make things better at all.

Heh, heh. I don't know anyone who wouldn't be embarrassed by their selves in the 7th grade.

I would never be embarrassed by my 7th grade self. Mainly because everything that would have made me embarrassed about myself then, remains.

Well, except the Conway Twitty hairdo.

I know that we were all a little goofy at that age. What's weird is that the kids today seem much more slick. Some of them, anyway.

Hey, that game looks like Willow for NES. Which I only recognize/think that because I looked it up to see if I wanted to bid $1.50 for it on ebay. Somebody beat me by a quarter. I remember when that game came out. I wasn't interested. I still haven't seen the movie. But I would try both now. I should check out the game on emulator before I try any more auctions for it.

Willow is a must see 1980s fantasy adventure movie with the first film digital morphing CGI, done by Industrial Light and Magic.

The game while long (building experience points) is challenging and fun with catchy music and cool levels. Most areas are mazes and you collect spells and weapons along the way. It loosely follows the movie and I spent many a happy hour of my youth to beat it. Definitely worth your $1.50. It is similar in game play to Dragon Warrior or Zelda. See the movie first though.
