At the time that "Hand in Hand" was filmed, all Rolls Royce automobiles were custom built "one-offs". No two cars were alike, even if the same body was selected from the same coachbuilder.</p> <p>The photo above is the 1955 Rolls Royce Silver Wraith Empress Tourine Limousine, by Hooper & Co. of Westminster, London. </p> <p>Hooper & Co, was the "Royal Coachmaker", their constructions usually reserved for the Diamler Motorcar of the British Monarchy. However, the "Empress" bodystyle was so popular that Hooper & Co. would custome build bodies for other makes of fine cars, like Rolls Royce.</p> <p>The Silver Wraith Empress Tourine Limousine that appears in the moive is an unbelievevably expensive automobile and very formal in appearance. </p> | eddstarr | Jul 06, 2020 |  |
