8945 | Summer 2014 | King's Dominion was a unique place to me. I liked the Wayne's World coaster (not sure what they call it now that Paramount doesn't own the park) and the Volcano coaster was REALLY unique. So cool how it would shoot you up out of the top of the volcano.

I also remember it being the ONLY theme park I had ever been in that had METAL DETECTORS at the front gate. Nothing makes you feel secure at a theme park like metal detectors. I was thinking... "what am I going into here...the getto park?"
| Vaporman87 | Jun 16, 2014 | |
8944 | E3 2014 | man, i can't believe i missed out on that! well i can manage the wait with the releases, i'm still going through kirby triple deluxe and animal crossing on the 3DS as well as super mario 3D world and mario kart 8. i'm just hoping that they show off captain falcon and ness soon (if they're coming back)
| Benjanime | Jun 16, 2014 | |
8943 | Summer 2014 | i went to kings dominion a couple of times, but as the later years came along i was a bit disappointed because their park felt like nothing BUT roller coasters, lol. i did like some of their nickelodeon themed rides though, like one reptar-themed coaster and a wild thornberrys ride that's similar to the escape from pompeii, but the drop is a bit shorter.

around 1993-1994 they had a huge jungle gym area themed around nicktoons and one of the crew members had a music video of "happy happy joy joy" playing along in a segment as they were setting everything up. it was a one-time thing, but to me it was the peak of nickelodeon in theme park form
| Benjanime | Jun 16, 2014 | |
8942 | Summer 2014 | I think I do recall that show. They also had one (later on I believe) with Leslie Nielson in it. I can't remember what it was about though.

There used to be a coaster there called Drachenfire. That was the first coaster that went upside down that I ever rode. After that, a whole new world of coaster riding opened up to me.
| Vaporman87 | Jun 16, 2014 | |
8941 | Mario Kart 8 | they did the same exact thing for mario kart 7, yet there are still some people that don't understand the numbered title, lol
| Benjanime | Jun 16, 2014 | |
8940 | Suddenly Summer Article Contest | ah, looks like i already missed out on it. it's times like these that make me wish that i have enough time during the day to do more than one activity after work. i'm still glued to both digital art and video gaming as well as netflix
| Benjanime | Jun 16, 2014 | |
8939 | Summer 2014 | i used to ride the rollercoasters at one point, the griffon was the last one i ever went on but it felt short, not many tight turns and there were wide loops. nowadays for me it's ether the regular amusement park rides or the water rides, the escape from pompeii is a favorite of mine ;)

i miss some of their old shows though, around a decade ago i remember when they had a movie that was simply titled "4-D pirates", directed and written by R.L. stine and a cameo by weird al yankovic. i only remember parts of it, but one scene had a closeup of a fish spitting water and around the two sides of the theater screen water would shoot out at the audience, and another one with a bunch of mice running across a floor and air vents blowing at the audience's feet to give the feeling that the mice were running across. creative and hilarious :D
| Benjanime | Jun 16, 2014 | |
8938 | Mario Kart 8 | I also like how they incorporated the "8" as an item on the track that can be acquired (though it is turned horizontally to look like an infinity symbol) and it gives you ALL of the available power ups/weapons at once.
| Vaporman87 | Jun 16, 2014 | |
8937 | Mario Kart 8 | well to me having a map (as well as showing the items that the opponents have) can be a big help for the one player cup races, especially 150cc. once you see someone with a blue shell you'll want to purposely wait in second so it'll go for the computer in front instead, but i agree that it may be unfair with local multiplayer
| Benjanime | Jun 16, 2014 |
