20147A New Addition to the RetroDaze Family Incoming...Hey Johnny! Good to see you here. My God, I never imagined parting with the "Xchange" - my very first forum community on "the internet". I had previously created "forums" for a few BBSes I used to run - way back in the day - like, in the 80s. Seriously. On a Commodore 64 with a 300 baud modem.&nbsp;<div><br></div><div>Now that I no longer own the domain name - I think I realized what my most recent mistakes were. To begin with I haven't had time to pay much attention to the site as my career has me too busy. However, during those times when I had a few hours to play around - I never thought about the acquisition of NEW members. I'm a sentimental kind of guy and I never lost the urge to "get the band back together". However, I now realize that was a mistake - and most of those people moved on...</div><div><br></div><div>I think attracting a new audience, such as yourselves, along with marketing for NEW people - is the right way of going about things. Once there's an influx of newly interested people - I have a strong feeling many of those original members will come back for new conversations...</div><div><br></div><div>As "the boss" mentioned - there are a ton of html pages on that site - and a massive amount of pages in the forum community. I'm not entirely sure what his plan is - but if it's to bring traffic HERE through my site - I have little doubt that'll work. Ultimately, I think it would be great to import the data into one forum or another - but that might not be an easy task. I really don't know...</div><div><br></div><div>But, I'm pretty confident we can expect to see an influx of traffic coming this way. I do miss talking about the 80s so I'll be watching and participating when I can...</div><div><br></div><div>Have a great day, everyone! It's nice to meet ya's...</div>Sal CollazianoApr 22, 2015View
20146A New Addition to the RetroDaze Family Incoming...You've purchased 80sxchange? Believe it or not, that was one of the first nostalgia sites I ever posted to. I joined either around or shortly after my 18th birthday, making posts on there under the name "outofplacechild". I was a young 80s fan whose fandom was not appreciated by most of those around me, hence the name. Unfortunately, I was a member during a time when I was angrier, bitter, not seeing a psychologist, trying to deal with the effects of Aspergers' on my own terms, and believing in political ideals that, in retrospect, I greatly regret supporting. If you come across any posts by outofplacechild, know that they were written during a time when I was young, immature and didn't have the help I needed.<br>Caps 2.0Apr 22, 2015View
20145A New Addition to the RetroDaze Family Incoming...Vaporman has tried to buy RJ in the past, in fact that was the original plan. But Vertex wasn't ready to sell and that's why RD was started. I doubt Vertex has changed his mind yet, but maybe someday. shakin steakApr 22, 2015View
20144A New Addition to the RetroDaze Family Incoming...So you're going to merge the two sites? Will their old threads be in the index here? Will the members be automatically registered on RD? Will that domain redirect here? All their extra content migrated? (like the game box covers and readalongs) <br>So many questions. This is pretty exciting&nbsp; <img src="http://www.retro-daze.org/images/smilies/p4.gif"><br><br><br><br>shakin steakApr 22, 2015View
