20249How was your day? It's been another weekend of working on the house. I'll be very glad when this remodel is completely finished. Nice thing is, the family/TV room is about done, and man it's soooo much better now. It was the only room in the house we never did paint or recarpet, and many did it need it. Loving it now.

In between working on the house, I've been working on getting 80sXChange set up on my server... a mess in itself. Explained in the appropriate thread.
Vaporman87Apr 26, 2015View
20248Last Movie You WatchedPaddington (2014)

A surprisingly well done children's movie with some tidbits thrown in for adults to liven it up. It was pleasantly better than expected, and I recommend it. Paddington himself is lovably awkward in London, but without coming off as an annoying pest. A bit predictable and cliche, but good nonetheless.
3.75/5

Vaporman87Apr 26, 2015View
20247Looney TunesThey had me up to the Space Jam movie. That was unforgivable, but I'm healing from the wounds now. Vaporman87Apr 26, 2015View
20246How was your day?My day was mostly quiet. Though after the new episode I've been on an Abbott and Costello kick (Yes they made a joke based on the Who's on First bit) and I've been writing a riff on a movie cause I felt like doing it for a while. Though recording will have to wait.
ThatDudeintheHoodieApr 26, 2015View

20243Last Movie You Watched
/\ Yes, I think it would be good here.

Deep Space - 1987 - The military loses track of a satellite that contains a "living weapon" and it crashes in LA. Two wiseguy city detectives decide to track it down, despite being told to shove off by territorial feds, who disappear from the story halfway through. How the government would have created this (they refer to it as "the project") or why they put it in space is also never explained. The "weapon" looks like a spikier Alien, and its preferred method of attack is shooting tentacles across the room in close-ups. I can't recommend this at all. Every single thing about it has been done much better in other movies and while there are a couple of cool setpieces and laughable moments, there really isn't any fun to be had here. 20240Last Movie You WatchedMutant Hunt - 1987 - Some Federation bounty hunters learn of super-powerful evil cyborg mutants. The good guys fight mostly with kicks and the bad guys by picking up and squeezing. Many disjointed sequences and things that don't make much sense. The acting and plotting is like a way toned-down Troma flick. Action sequences have lots of shadows and close-ups. I think they spent about $200 on effects, and less on locations and sets (although some shots are rather impressive.) There is a very interesting depiction of 'futuristic' technology like portable phones and location tracking, and there's a lot of talk about a typical sci-fi drug. The story gets a lot better in the second half. Wardrobe and location is a New York City time capsule in this strong example of the style that inspired Kung Fury. Really cheese. It could be an amazing Nintendo game. This-TV, 2/5 shakin steakApr 25, 2015View
