21622How was your day?If all you do on that machine is surf the web and other minor stuff you may as well just install Xubuntu directly on there. It's absolutely free and it's a heck of a lot more secure and stable than XP ever was. I'd go with Xubuntu instead of Ubuntu because it's more lightweight and may run smoother on a not-as-fast machine.

You'd be surprised how well Linux can run on older hardware that's clinging to life.
Linux_SageJun 26, 2015View
21621How was your day?You can always try your hand at winning the next article contest. It would likely cover the cost of a decent laptop. :)
Vaporman87Jun 26, 2015View

You would pick up feeds from stations that would just be a set with nobody there. Just people talking quietly in the background for hours.
Vaporman87Jun 26, 2015View
21619Marvel's Ant-ManAnt-Man truly is an underdog both literally and figuratively and I hope that the movie does well!

I was SHOCKED that there wasn't an Ant-Man end credits scene or at least a nod in Age of Ultron, especially with Ant-Man coming out only two months later. It would have been wonderful publicity, the original Avengers end-credit scene boosted Shwarma sales 200% lol

Also, I hope that once this move comes out we can get the full story on why Edgar left the project and details on his version of the movie.
echidna64Jun 26, 2015View
21618Virtual Console Thursdaysat this point i wouldn't mind seeing the phantasy star titles getting the 3D treatment, i'd love taking IV on the go.
BenjanimeJun 26, 2015View
21617How was your day?i know, they have acceptable prices. the only problem with my money these days go straight to bills and groceries. i moved back with my parents because they were having financial troubles. my stepdad blames himself for purchasing the house because the mortgage followed by other bills hardly kept both him and my mom on their feet. so it might be a long while before i get another laptop.

on the other hand my mom has a windows 7 desktop computer, so i could always use that as an alternative for article writing.
BenjanimeJun 26, 2015View
21616Virtual Console ThursdaysWeek of 6/25/2015:

Wii U Virtual Console:

Star Fox Command (DS)
$9.99

Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time (DS)
$9.99

Seems that this week's releases are made to coincide with the recent E3 announcements... particularly, Star Fox Zero and Mario and Luigi Paper Jam. It would be nice to get the original SNES Star Fox on the Virtual Console, but again, it seems they're still having trouble trying to properly emulate the Super FX chip. It's the same reason why the GBA version of Yoshi's Island was released instead of the SNES version.

Star Fox Command also had multiplayer, which you would connect with other DS systems. Unfortunately, with this being on the Wii U Virtual Console, the multiplayer is rendered useless.

On a side note, those of you who are interested in Sega's 3D Classics, the 3DS eShop is holding a temporary discount on a selection of their games. Nice timing considering that there's more Sega 3D classic titles awaiting for the 3DS.
blueluigiJun 26, 2015View
21615Old Satellite DishesOne of the guys in my boy scout troop his family had one of those giant satellite dishes. Unfortunately I really only knew him from scouts and well he was aging out of it just as I was getting in. I would have felt awkward asking if I could come over and hang out at his place just to watch TV. I would have loved having one too but we didn't have that kind of money. Such a sin too, I would have loved to see what kind of weird crap you could find on there. DirtyD79Jun 26, 2015View
21614The CaféJason Voorhees had a machete, Leatherface had a chainsaw, the killer in this film has a noose. 21613General suggestionsYeah, that's been an issue since the beginning. I thought it had to do with the time at the server, but the servers were supposed to originally be in Texas. Maybe Moudy can shed some light on this.Vaporman87Jun 26, 2015View
