29190The FlintstonesNothing boring about this, edd.<div><br></div><div>You're right, there were memorable music moments from the series like The Twitch, Ann Margret (Or should I say Margrock lol) doing her man-bashing song, and my personal favorite...</div><div><br></div><iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/_xshFLmea3w" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen=""></iframe><div><br></div><div>Great, spirited rendition, Fred. I love it when those girls, faint lol.&nbsp;</div>Mr MagicFeb 22, 2016View
29189Last Movie You WatchedDjango (1966)<div><br></div><div>7/10 Good italian western movie. Obviously a big influence to quentin tarantino's style and a big inspiration for django unchained. He even used the theme song from this in django unchained.</div><div><br></div><div><br></div> <iframe width="420" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/A3WVNT4Djb8" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen=""></iframe>Jrs1991Feb 22, 2016View
29188The FlintstonesRelax, I'm not going to bore ya with another looong story.<div><br></div><div>I just want to say that The Flintstones is so old that it goes back to a time when the three major networks, NBC, ABC and CBS, only ran a part-time broadcast schedule. In 1960 some markets would be "off-air" for most of the day.</div><div><br></div><div>ABC was always in 3rd place when compared to its bigger rivals so it was always looking for unique programs to offer viewers that might steal some market share from the big boys. Enter Hanna-Barbera with the crazy idea of a "prime-time animated TV series" for the 1960 television season.</div><div><br></div><div>Everyone knows The Flintstones but I was stunned to see the Original 1960 Intro and Closing credits on YouTube. I was only 3 years old at the time but I've never forgotten that catchy music while Fred drove like a crazy man in a hurry to get home, lol.&nbsp;</div><div><br></div> <iframe width="420" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/sL_zF_EPK74" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen=""></iframe><div><br></div><div>Now here's a real treat, the Original 1960 Closing credits. The Flintstones was originally sponsored by Phillip Morris so the first closing sequence was a fade from the Phillip Morris cigarette ads that paid for the whole series. Never thought I would see Fred yelling for Wilma and waking up all the neighbors again.</div><div><br></div> <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/WSF3CV0OPGU" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen=""></iframe><div><br></div><div>Remember, that first season of The Flintstones was unique in the draw styling and voice acting. Nothing was set as far as production standards were concerned. For H-B, the hope was just to survive for as long as possible. Good thing the show was a big hit.</div><div><br></div><div>Here's a clip where Wilma and Betty get back at the boys for trying to keep their latest money making scheme a secret from both of them. Seems like every episode was the girls teaching the boys a lesson, lol.</div><div><br></div><div>Don't overlook the music on The Flintstones. Some of the best episodes have memorable songs that make this cartoon a lot of fun for kids of all ages.</div><div><br></div> <iframe width="420" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/_oAnEiH_B5I" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen=""></iframe>eddstarrFeb 22, 2016View
29187The FlintstonesI never was a huge fan actually. &nbsp;But...I'm sure I'm in the minority here, but I liked the Pebbles and Bamm Bamm show. &nbsp;I watched it when they showed it as part of USA Cartoon Express at 6pm on weeknights in the late 80's or early 90's. &nbsp;I remember they used to show it right after Laugh-a-lympics.mickyarberFeb 22, 2016View

29181If you had your own TV Channel, What would you show? For me, I find that a lot of shows that I have memories of watching with the parents that were intended for an audience older than I, hold up really well actually. &nbsp;<div><br></div><div>Like recently I've been plowing through episodes of Baa Baa Blacksheep and others, and am really digging them. &nbsp; Some shows from before my time like Rat Patrol, I'm watching for the first time and really like them. &nbsp; All we watch in this house is retro stuff, outside of some live sports. &nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>As an example, a typical evening after homework is done, we watch a little Saved By the Bell with the kids, and some Andy Griffith. &nbsp;Once the kids go on about their business, the wife and I settle in with old comedies like Night Court, Seinfeld, Newhart and other shows like Dukes of Hazzard, CHiPs, A-Team, and Baa Baa Blacksheep. &nbsp; We mix it up some though and throw in BJ and the Bear, Happy Days, Wonder Years, Matlock, Laverne and Shirley among others.</div><div><br></div><div>For me, they seem to all hold up just fine. &nbsp;Older cartoons on the other hand, not so much....with the exception of Smurfs, Snorks, He-Man, and GI Joe. &nbsp; The kids dig those as well.</div>mickyarberFeb 21, 2016View
