31602Virtual Console ThursdaysLast week didn't have an official Virtual Console release as it seems that Xenoblade Chronicles for the Wii was released on the Wii U eShop instead. Whether or not you're getting that, or the New 3DS version, it's better than getting the expensively priced retail copy of Xenoblade.<br><br>Still, if they're going to release Wii games as their official placeholder for the Wii U Virtual Console, then I kind of wish that they'd release games for the 3DS Virtual Console as well. Especially the SNES games for the New 3DS. But at least this week brings in a release for the Wii U and New 3DS. This is the week of May 5, 2016.<div style="font-weight: normal;"><br></div><div><b>Wii U Virtual Console:</b></div><div><b><br></b></div><div>Style Savvy (DS)</div><div>$9.99</div><img src="https://nintendookie.files.wordpress.com/2009/11/style-savvy-box-art.jpg?w=300"><div><br></div><div><br></div><div><b>New 3DS Virtual Console:</b></div><div><b><br></b></div><div>Super Punch-Out (SNES)</div><div>$7.99</div><div><br></div><img width="500" height="400" src="http://www.mobygames.com/images/covers/l/78995-super-punch-out-snes-front-cover.png"><div><br></div><div><br></div><div>As I mentioned before when Super Punch Out was released for the Wii U Virtual Console, I reviewed that game back in 2009... and it got a little bit of a backlash. Rightfully so as a lot of what I said about the game is pretty damn stupid. But I still hold to my opinion that the game is still weak addition to the series... especially when compared to both Mike Tyson's Punch-Out and Punch-Out for the Wii. Part of it, I believe, is due to how Super Punch-Out is trying to be more like the arcade Punch-Out titles. While they were a good way to kick off the series, I don't really feel like they hold up all that way. Super Punch-Out is a little bit better than the arcade titles, but still not very good.</div><div><br></div><div>As for Style Savvy... I know there are some people who enjoy that game. But I feel like part of it was when Nintendo was making a game that appeals to women. And yes, I do know for a fact that a lot of women actually owned a DS at the time as this was when Nintendo appealed to the casual gamers. However, I doubt these same women even owns a Wii U... and even if they did, I don't think they would actually look through the Virtual Console lineup, and see Style Savvy on there.</div>blueluigiMay 06, 2016View
