While I havn't seen Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, yet, my watchlist is jammed with first reviews from some of my favorite online commentators. Now everyone here understands that a Great Movie has a way of hiding all the "mechanics" that go into a film project. The 1984 Ghostbusters is so good that no one sees the deal-making, script changes, edits on the cutting room floor, and the product merchandising - in case the movie is a hit. Every attempt to recapture that "1984 lightening in a bottle", can't hide the visible money grab that's the driving force behind all sequels. It takes an exceptional movie to paper-over the obvious capitalist intentions at play. |

Midnight's Edge After Dark, (MEAD), has me excited to see this movie. Some of my usual YouTube reviewers are being too harsh, but a few are giving Frozen Empire a second/third looksee - and that's a good thing!
