I used to have trouble when Mrs steak wanted to watch a movie.  If I was picking, 4 times out of 5 she would groan about it being boring.  Now I have figured out the magic bullet.  She loves high budget post-apocalyptic stuff.  I'm happy because it's one of my favorite genres, although I'm just as happy with low budget stuff.

Last week we watched Dredd.

She loved it.  Now I just wish the 1996 movie Judge Dredd was on Netflix.  I haven't seen that one either.

Yesterday she wanted to watch a movie while we recuperated from a weekend of hard work (and drinking) at a festival.  She casually remarked that Dredd was good.  Instantly my mind went to a movie I have been thinking about for a few weeks now...

Now this is a movie that I did see before.  In the theater as a matter of fact.  I remember nobody seemed to like it at the time but I was all over it.  This isn't on Netflix either but when something made me think of it a little while back, I headed to eBay for a DVD on the cheap.

So we had a great time watching that as well.  Dazers, what other post apocalypse or cyberpunk movies do you recommend?  Props if they are on Netflix streaming!

Remake, original, or both?

Original, but the remake is ok too.

I've said before, and I'll repeat here... The Postman is a GOOD MOVIE. I don't care what others say. Phooey on them.

Also a movie starring Denzel Washington... The Book of Eli. That was a good one.

I would like to see a movie based on the Fallout series of games. That would be cool.

I still have to watch the postman and waterworld. Everyone says they're bad but i think i would like them. I think it's just people going along with what other people say and not forming their own opinion. But definitely check out stake land, it's really good and it's still on netflix i think. After i watched it i had to get it on dvd.

I loved Water World too despite all the hate. I even went to the Water World stunt show at Universal.

There's tons of great movies in the genre. I like I am Legend & The Omega Man both of which are based on the Richard Matheson novel. The Road was a bit too depressing for me.

I liked Resident Evil: Extinction.

It was a lot better than the first film.
