I wanted to make a thread for the discussion of books and literature. A
place where we can get ideas and share what we're currently into.
Anything is fair game; Comics, Manga, Non Fiction, etc.
I'll share some favorites later, but right now I'm currently reading On Writing by Stephen King. Half autobiography and half guidebook, it's really turning out to be a great insight for burgeoning writers.
Up next I'm going to take on the behemoth masterpiece by Ayn Rand, Atlas Shrugged
which possibly has the coolest name for a book and will be the longest book
I've ever read (Aside from the Bible which took me 3 years) and I'm
hoping it will be a good novel to get me thinking.
So what are you reading? Any recommendations?
I'm on
the naughty
list.

I finished reading Misery a few weeks ago.
"If you think a 401K is your mother-in-law's bra size, you might be a redneck."

Holy cow vkimo! I can't imagine taking on Atlas Shrugged! It's like 800 pages or some such size. The last books I tackled were Mere Christianity and some of The Problem of Pain by C.S. Lewis. Still have yet to finish that one.
I should note that those last two were audio books, as they are much easier for me to do since I can listen in my truck while traveling to and fro. Finding time to actually sit down and crack open the pages of a book is near impossible for me at this point. You love this signature.

Who couldn't appreciate what Henry Ford accomplished. I bet that one will be interesting.

Yeah that Henry Ford books looks good. I started on Theodore Roosevelt's biography (Another monster of a book) but couldn't make it more than 50 pages in. I'll try it again some day, but I'll have to buy it since the library only allows 2 renewals. I never like to buy books though.

I just got done reading James Patterson's "Witch & Wizard".
I think I'll read his other book "Worse Case" next. "If you think a 401K is your mother-in-law's bra size, you might be a redneck."

Just finished The Dog Stars by Peter Heller, and it became an instant favorite. Probably tied with I Am Legend as far as post apocalypse stories go.
...and on page 200 with Atlas Shrugged. Taking my time on that one. |

I just got done reading the newest Naruto manga chapter and it's just wow. Though I couldn't help myself by doing one of those 50's or 60s batman shows with the narrator saying "How are they going to get out of this pickle?" Other than that it has been MLP fan fiction.
The ones I enjoy reading are this http://www.fimfiction.net/story/188873/princess-lunas-suicide-solutions and http://www.fimfiction.net/story/189018/mother and lastly this one. it might be long. But it's a fun read. http://www.fimfiction.net/story/131002/the-wheel-and-the-butterfly-a-dan-x-pinkie-pie-saga |
