Wow. I could read articles like that all day long. That was... awesome.

To add my two cents...

I know that feeling of everyone growing up, moving on, and losing touch. But I also know the feeling of NEVER losing touch. One friend, my best friend, and I still hang out. He's been my best friend (besides my wife of course) since the second grade. Now we're both being welcomed into the 40 year old club. And yet, we still hang out and play games at each other's places, reminisce, catch a movie together, shop together, hit the amusement park together... that is, when time and family life allows.

He is a huge link to my past. One that I hope remains until I'm gone.

This isn't a retro school event, but I remember when I was getting my GED in 2005 at the technical college, a cop Full Nelson-slammed or body-slammed some young punk outside the building.

I wrote kick me on a friend's shirt while he was getting his shirt autographed by everyone. The result along with my friend finding out was priceless.

During our 7th and 8th grade years, we intermittently considered ourselves part of a "model rocket" club. Discussing all there is to discuss regarding model rockets. Those had to have been short conversations.

i don't know if it would be considered "funny" but when i began sex ed. class in 1999 there were a few dirty minded students that were in the class and one would exclaim "POOPSTAIN" at random times

I don't know about anyone else, but I would have been laughing had I been present.

I was reminded today of a stunt some genius in high school thought would be funny, but turned into torture for any History class.

Someone put animal urine in the radiator in History class. That was the only source of heat in there. It was winter. So yeah, it stunk in that class for many weeks.

There have been times when someone would bring a stink bomb to my middle school.

Torture at its finest.
