I brought this up briefly in the Virtual Console Thursdays thread, but...
From what I've seen in the trailer footage, this game looks absolutely amazing... even if it is a tad overpriced. Still, those of you who grew up on the NES, then this game looks like something to look into. It has such crazy levels, such as Donkey Kong with Link as the main character, playing Super Mario Bros in reverse, and completing simple challenges by knocking over 5 excitebike players and challenging you to get a high score in a video game.
Here's the trailer:

It's a great idea, that maybe should have been more developed. I think the idea of creating a whole game out of games from the past could go way farther than this. For instance, Have several characters from Nintendo's 8 bit era come together to stop a league of evil consisting of other 8 bit characters and the heroes have to complete levels featuring aspects and enemies from all sorts of games. They could take this concept so much farther than this.

Vaporman87 wrote :Seriously. Wario Ware is great, but I can only play so many minigames. Also, I'm not getting the Link in Donkey Kong thing. Is it because Link can't jump? |

he did a front flip jump in link's awakening, but if he jumps in this game i'll bet it's just a generic hop

I haven't even PLAYED it, but I could tell this from just looking at trailers! They really flopped in terms of taking this idea to a new level. Soooo much could be done to make a retrogamer flip their proverbial lid.... and yet....

NES Remix 2 is now available. With more challenges from the first game. And from what I've seen in the trailers and gameplay footage, the challenges look really cool. I like the option of being able to post videos from the game on Miiverse. The Year of Luigi may be over, but the Luigi themed games still continue with Super Luigi Bros. It's basically Super Mario Bros in reverse, and you play as Luigi instead of Mario. But what's really nice is if you own both NES Remix 1 and 2, then you'll get Championship Mode unlocked. It's a mode based off Nintendo World Championships 1990. While it still has the same Super Mario Bros challenge the original game had, it doesn't have Rad Racer and Tetris most likely due to licensing issues. So, that's replaced with challenges from Super Mario Bros 3 and Dr. Mario. If they ever put a discount price on both games, then I would consider going to it. I know they're releasing a retail version of Famicom Remix 1 and 2 in Japan. Not sure if they'll do the same here in America. |

Retail version of NES Remix 1 and 2 is announced under the name NES Remix Pack. I think I'm going to go for that version once it comes out... that is, assuming it's under a decent price. |
