I finally checked out Frozen. I don't know if it compares to The Lion King, but it's been entertaining to say the least. I like the songs and Olaf has been amusing throughout the film. The visual effects have been dazzling as well.

I'll give this a 7/10.

Here's a little parody of "Do You Wanna Build a Snowman?"

I have a feeling that they just made the sequel more action based because of the frozen world in kingdom hearts 3 lol

So, was the sequel an okay sequel or did it compare to the original?

as far as the box office goes it was a decent follow up, but it didn't compare to the sales of the original, which was $400 million.

I'm not sure if this has been brought up and quite frankly I'm too lazy to go through all the threads so I apologize in advance if this was mentioned before: Frozen was actually a development hell project. No joke, in fact, it was one of the first DH projects to come from the House of Mouse and was early as 1936 when Walt wrote a script for The Snow Queen (based on the Hans Christian Andersen story of the same name respectively). It immediately got shoved to the side but was in that pile for eons. Years later, some person pulled the script out and got to work on it. One of its early concepts when the project continued was it was going to be a hand drawn animated musical starring Hocus Pocus herself Bette Midler. Eventually, they reworked it into what it is today and well, the rest is history

i wish i could care enough for the frozen franchise, but two things bother me about it:

1. it's a major sellout with its merchandising

2. i'm getting kinda tired of these princess stories tbh, i want more movies like lilo & stitch

To be fair, Disney does stray from the Princess formula sometimes. What we've gotten out of most of their non-princess material is what I like to call Cult Disney (A term used to describe such cult classics as The Great Mouse Detective, Tron, Cat From Outer Space, Oliver and Company, etc). Not often we get new cult classics from The House of Mouse, but when we do, it's a breath of fresh air. It was like Big Hero 6. With Frozen mania still being rampant, I was clueless to Big Hero's existance until long after it was on dvd and blu ray. It wasn't advertised anywhere that I saw, none of my friends were talking about it until its home release, other than that, it was good seeing a breath of fresh air flick from Disney. Bonus points for it reaching cult status too

well i mean like i see it being advertised everywhere, just a month ago they were showing off a frozen poster at the frozen food section of a food lion store i went to and it just had me rolling my eyes. i suppose it is an achievement for them to have a grouncbreaking box office movie from this decade, i guess i'm just finding the princess movies to be old hat.
