How'd the watching of Christmas Vacation go, Kid C?

The holidays are in full swing here in Columbus. Some very impressive decorations. But I always find the efforts of small town folks more appealing than in the city. Cities have massive budgets and professional decorators. I like being wowed by Joe Schmoe and his family on a limited budget.

Just when I thought Cookie Crisp couldn't get any sweeter.

I saw those yesterday, along with Sugar Cookie Toast Crunch and Christmas Crunch. I was trying to find some Holiday Rice Krispies, but no dice.

A box of Christmas Crunch would be nice too.

Christmas of 1961 will forever be the highlight of my Holiday memories.
I was 4 years old and that was the year I got my most loved toy, a Lassie Plush Doll. I hugged that stuffed Lassie like it was real. It never left my arms for months. Eventually the seams broke and Lassie's stuffing was falling out all over the house. |

Hey thanks guys!
That was a time when my family decorated the entire house and every window had an electric candle in it. We even had one of those "Evergleem" Aluminum Christmas trees by Alcoa Corp. Plus we used one of those rotating color wheels that were all the rage back in those days. I saw a few years ago that original Evergleem trees, in good condition and with the packing box, were popular again on ebay. You can search the name online to see what the trees looked like. |
