This weekend I went back to the old hometown.  I saw this downtown and snapped as many pictures as I could on my cameraphone.  I wonder if the kid is embarrassed by his dad driving this thing around, or if he thinks it's cool. 

There didn't appear to be any customizations.  Not even an OUTATYM license plate.

Did you actually follow them to the parking lot to snap pics?

ha, no, I was standing on the street corner waiting for a friend.  All of these pictures were taken from the same spot.

It's cool that you got to see a DeLorean.

I actually got a glimpse of one here in no man's land several years ago. It was parked at a defunct gas station. I'm guessing they were looking at a map trying to figure out where the heck they were.

Nice.  That's way more interesting, in terms of stories you could imagine around the sighting, than seeing one drop off a teenager on the town square.

I have just been made aware by someone on facebook, completely unrelated to this, that October 22 is a significant  date in BTTF2 (in 2015).

Speaking of, I always see these images stating that "this day" is the day Marty arrives from 1985. So, what day is the actual, real, honest-to-goodness day (and year)? Anyone know for certain?

It is definitely 2015.  Oct 21, to be precise.  Present day in the series is 1985.  In BTTF1, Marty travels to 1955 (30 years in the past); in BTTF2, they go to 2015 (30 years in the future); in BTTF3, they go to 1885 (100 years in the past).

By the way, while I was there, I did think of going to the grade school to look for the superball on the roof. But coordinating a ladder and someone with a pickup truck while school was not in session, just wasn't possible.

The real "Marty" looks much better in reality (30 years later) than his movie counterpart. Well, at least superficially (if not in health).

Darn! I was really hoping to see it at long last!!!

Someone in my old neighborhood owned a DeLorean, custom plates too. I saw replica at Universal back in the 90s when they still had the ride.
