21 years and counting. My how things have changed in the last two decades.

To the passage of time, let's add events that have happened since 2001.

The passing of Queen Elizabeth II on September 8, 2022 has cleared the calendar! 

But on a more troubling note, I'm getting the sense that, generationally speaking, we have a younger demographic that has little tolerance for commemoration of events from the past. History is like dust on a table, it can easily be wiped away. September 11, 2001, is rapidly receeding into the mist of history, and the 21st century is not turning out close to anyone's predictions.

To anyone who remembers the first World Trade Center bombing of 1993 - me too!

Well, I don't know if you guys read Heathcliff, but today's strip was pretty darn special.

This year was certainly different on the topic of 9/11, in that nowhere at all on social media did I ever see it mentioned, not even a picture in remembrance. I think a lot of people are just moving on from bringing it up now.
