I remember reading Nintendo Power and the playstation one. I vaguely remember attempting to trace or draw anything I found in them. I'd also look for new games I might want to buy based on screenshots alone. Good times.

I love looking through old Nintendo Power mags and seeing who they deemed a celebrity back then. It was always along the lines of "Kirk Cameron loves Super Mario Bros 3 and offers a tip for players that if they dont die they won't lose a life." Thanks Kirk, I would never have figured that out.

I found the issues! The first was volume 2 issue 12 of GameFan, and the second was volume 7 issue 7 of EGM (which I still have a bagged copy of). The one shown is from GameFan... don't want to open the EGM one... but I'm pretty sure it was Mortal Kombat related.

Yes! It's the one with Clayfighter and Mortal Kombat guys staring each other down!

That is so awesome! I can't even get art published in a Highlights magazine. 

I had one issue of Tips N Tricks that had the cheat codes for a majority of the N64 titles I had, it was pretty ratty from the constant thumbing. I did have a one year subscription to Game Informer in the very early 2000s.
