Well. Yesterday I ordered a vase of flowers to be sent. 20 years ago, I could go to a local florist and detail a custom bouquet. I didn't ask for anything complicated back then. It was a very simple composition. I don't know or remember if my specific instructions were followed, but I think they were. I asked and they didn't say no. in the past few years I have seen that they definitely would not. All I ever wanted was a mix of daisies, red roses, forgetmenots, and fern leaves. Red, yellow, green, blue. Roses are standard and the others all have family significance, and that's a full range of primary colors, important to me now and in childhood. But FTD won't do it. You have to use their predetermined arrangements. I guess that's the efficient market now. My mom doesn't seem to mind, as far as we've talked about lately. It's the thought that counts My thoughts include originality that nobody wants to provide?

I bought mom some Rio wildflowers from Home Depot. 

I spent my mother's day mostly on the toilet. I think I got food poisoning from calamari I ate last night.

one thing i loved about 1980s era garfield is that jim davis would sometimes put the comic gags in the backseat for storydriven specials, like in garfield on the town, when garfield goes downtown and not only meets his mom, but his family, who are known to be territorial cats.
