You Know You're An 80's Kid: If you remember the Aston Martin Lagonda - 1980 to 1990 Yes sir, the 1980's was an Automotive Wonderland and Aston Martin wanted a "Rolls-Royce Sports Sedan" with Aston Martin style and stunning appearance! Introduced at the 1976 London Auto Show as a concept car, the Lagonda became an instant hit with many wealthy clients dropping healthy deposits to encourage the car into production. Four years later the first Lagonda's, (Series II), went into production, looking very similar to the concept car! All the 80's Kids in the United States had to wait because the Lagonda was not available in the USA until 1982, that's how long it took Aston Martin the get the car certified for sale in America. The Lagonda was an 80's Dream-Come-True with styling like a 4-door DMC DeLorean. As the most expensive car in Aston Martin's fleet, you could buy four Deloreans for the price of one Lagonda. Only the Rolls-Royce Corniche cost more - but without the showstopping good looks. |
