Wow, lots of great mentions here! I'm really happy to see we have so many fans of The Munsters!

The Dick Van Dyke Show is also very special to me.

Another one of my favorite black-and-white shows is Adventures of Superman, the television show that starred George Reeves as Superman. I'm in the middle of watching the show over for about the tenth time right now. The first two seasons, which were the black-and-white episodes of the show, were far superior to the color episodes. The tone was much more serious; you might even describe it as film noir at times. Some of the battles with villains looked like something out of a gangster movie, and the criminals occasionally died. Stuff like that certainly wouldn't pass for children's entertainment these days!

Tragically, George Reeves, the star of the series, died at a fairly early age under mysterious circumstances. Though officially ruled a suicide, some believe he was murdered. For anyone interested in unsolved murders from the '50s or earlier, I definitely recommend reading up on the case. It's pretty interesting, and while the official suicide explanation isn't implausible, the suspects are suspicious enough to make you really wonder.

I think I saw an episode of some television show that went into his death and the circumstances surrounding it. Pretty fishy.

Yes, I've seen that show about his death, too. The strange thing is that the more you read about the different suspects, the more guilty each one of them seems. It's one of those cases where practically every person involved could have had reason to do it.

When I was a kid. All we had was a 12 inch black and white TV with 3 channels.  Because of that I assumed all old TV shows were in black and white.   It blue my mind to find out that Gilligan wore a red sweater. lol

That's crazy. I think it was equally startling when everything started getting colorized. You would see these bright colors on old black and white TV shows and films and think "Is that really what they wore? Yikes."
