One of my favorite websites just came out with a list of...well, exactly what the title says.

Most of these are not Millennial movies. They are Gen X movies.

The author did say he was an older millennial...it would make sense for him to be familiar with the movies of the previous generation.

Hmm, I agree with some of these choices. And the time period in general. I consider myself on the cusp of Generation X to Millenial. So maybe the headline makes sense. But millenial is the hot buzzword anyway, Gen X is decidedly not right now so most pages are gonna skew to the former these days.

My choices would be Critters, Short Circuit, and Nightmare on Elm Street. Plus sequels for all. And Heavy Metal, Batteries Not Included, and Gremlins.

I was lucky enough to discover them by myself. I saw the magazine on the racks at the convenience store where I went to buy candy bars and Mad Magazine. As for the movie, that was earlier, at a friend's house during a sleepover. He was asleep and I was channel flipping on cable TV (which we didn't have in my house). I stopped on some unfamiliar animation... probably on TBS... it was right at the beginning of the Taarna story when the general rose out of the mud.  I was about ten years old. I was fascinated of course. And I never knew what it was, until five or six years later, when I saw Heavy Metal The Movie for sale at Sam Goody, and bought it because I knew I liked the magazine. Imagine my surprise and joy when I saw that cybernetic hand reach up from the muck again...
