After a stopover at Myrtle Beach, last night we arrived home. Man... it's good to be home again.

I certainly miss traveling. I spent 10 years traveling, and now that I’ve been in a local job for 3 years, the itch to get out and go is strong www.retroramblings.com

I hear that. I'm with a moving company at the moment and I love the long hauls. Nothing like stopping at a WAWA off the interstate, refueling on Funyuns and Cola - and hitting the open road.

Typically yeah. Last month I drove a truck back from Texas, it was awesome. usually when alone I'll listen to whatever radio station comes in or an audiobook. Also been digging the SequelQuest podcasts from our own Hoju Koolander

Oh man. I don't know if I could do it all the time, but when I drove all the way across the country by myself (Philadelphia to Sacramento) it was definitely something I will never forget. |

We just got back from a little getaway in Baraboo, Wisconsin. Baraboo is where the Ringling Bros. circus was headquartered. We went to the Big Cat Rescue, the Railway Museum, the Al. Ringling mansion, and Circus World. We also went canoeing, did some local shopping, and sampled about half of all the bars and restaurants. Did I mention it is a small town? Also surrounded by farmland, much of it active. Our sightseeing included driving down country roads and seeing barns, farmhouses, and livestock. For three days it was good, but we missed a couple things that I had on the agenda and discovered a few more. So if we want to do a repeat run, we can. I would rather go somewhere new, but for under 200 miles away, it's hard to beat. |

What I Did On My Summer Vacation: a report by Jkatz, age 25
Sicily is an island off the coast of Italy. If you like old churches and sculptures, you're in luck! There's a bunch of them in every city, and I tried to take as many pictures of them as possible. Despite what my racist uncle always says, Italians are civilized people, and they do too have phones. Working phones, even! I was actually amazed to see a functioning phonebooth that hadn't been turned into a lavatory for the homeless. Good news for Clark Kent if he ever finds himself in Sicily. One of the towns we were in celebrated "The Feast of St. George", where they parade a statue through the streets and light fireworks! My camera doesn't take very good pictures at nighttime, so this was all I could get. A lot of beautiful beaches and coastal towns in Sicily. Even better, we went in late May/Early June, so most of the beaches we visited weren't full of people yet. I think my sister took this picture. Continued in part 2 below! The women of New Vegas ask me a lot if there's a Mrs. New Vegas. Well, of course there is! You're her. And you're still just as perfect as the day we met.
