The family and I will be off on a week of vacation in Williamsburg, Va. in the middle of next week. Hoping to hit Busch Gardens, King's Dominion, and the beach at some point... along with all the sights and sounds of Colonial Williamsburg and the surrounding areas.

It's been a decade or more since I've been to Williamsburg. Before we started having kids. So things have surely changed down there. Hopefully I still know my way around a little bit.

Back in the 1960's Norfolk city schools went to Colonial Williamsburg every year. After awhile I got to know some of the seasonal staff. By middle school those kind of trips ended, along with the visits to Washington, D.C.

Ah, Williamsburg. I went there a couple of months ago. Nice place! Very historical town. I went to Colonial Williamsburg, Busch Gardens, Jamestown, Yorktown, and had lunch at one of the taverns. Really nice! Good history lesson for the kids too! 'course at that age they might not care.

That will be one incredible trip. What draws you to Germany anyway? Heritage?

Yeah, mostly. On my dad's side of the family came a lot of Germans. The culture fascinates me too. Great music, great literature, science and everything. Going to be an awesome trip! My wife really wants to go too. Her main thing is seeing Schloss Neuschwannstein. She's dreamed about going there ever since she was a kid. I wanna see it too! I'll be taking loads of pics!

Next vacation for me is in July, possibly my last hurrah at a con (There is one happening right down the street from me in the fall I might attend)

Not exactly, life is starting to change for me and a possible move happening next year and need to save money.

Where are you considering a move to? Staying in Florida?
