I've not yet spoken with Eric, the promoter. But he did appear on a podcast recently where he goes into more detail on the show. Pretty interesting really.

That's a shame, hopefully you'll hear something soon. 

So I've remained skeptical about this event since the first time I heard about it. It turns out my radar was not far off. The event took place this weekend, and although the talent (well, most of them) and the vendors turned out, the fans did not.

Apparently the organizers had projected a large attendance number to the vendors (and most likely the talent), only to have a few hundred folks show up. Supposedly over half of the vendors ditched the place just a short time through Day 1. All this according to several Facebook posts to the Nostalgia Fest Philly page. The posts from the disgruntled vendors and talent reps have been deleted by the NFP folks, but the damage is done. Looks like this one was a bust.

I hate to hear that for the vendors and talent.  It was looking like it could have been a nice show.  

I read about a low turnout for another nostalgia convention that was held in Chicago not too long ago. Apparently, with that event, some of the talent that showed up didn't even get paid. I hope the same didn't happen with this show. It's too bad. I would definitely be up to going to something like this, especially if it was in Chicago, as that's very close to where I live.

Apparently that did happen here as well. I noticed that now the whole Facebook page has been taken down.

Wonder if it was a lack of promotion or interest?

Well that sucks. Guess marketing or whoever in charge of that didn't do their research.
