Since the first book in the Song of Ice and Fire series came out in 1996, I declare this retro territory.

I've never understood it's appeal. I'm probably the only person my age who isn't into the franchise.

Same here Rick. Not into it. Kinda like the whole Walking Dead phenomenon.

Yeah the episodes are very uneven, I'm trying to get into it cuz the wife likes it but it's borderline boring with 2 minutes of shock and awe- boobs and blood (I swear there is a quota)

My wife dubbed it "Game of Boobies" due to the gratuitous skin shown. I got into it around 2012 when the first or second season aired. My friend was reading the books and I got into them and couldn't put them down. I finished them all and eagerly await the conclusion. George RR Martin got carried away with subplots I think and doesn't quite know how to weave everything together. Either way the TV show will pass up the books and he'll probably keel over before everything is said and done.

That's why from time to time this site gets multi-posts cuz it happens to other guys too. Now that I see what happens I know to let it happen and log back later.
