Probably just so you can see the condition of the PCB (circuit board), if any corrosion is present etc.

Even the inside has to be mint. Now that's being particular.

$31600 for Air Raid

I just got an email from GameGavel.com who says:
A few months ago we had the privilege of hosting an auction for a mega rare item, an Atari 2600 game called Air Raid. This auction had well over 10,000 views and In the end GameGavel sold for a record $33,433 which was the highest closing auction in history for a commercially available video game. It happened on GameGavel NOT on eBay.

Broke another record. IGN writes
According to GameGavel’s Mike Kennedy, this makes Air Raid “the most expensive ‘consumer available’ video game ever sold at auction,” beating out the previous record of $31,600 for a copy of Air Raid sold in 2010.

The newest auction is only the third boxed version of Air Raid ever to be discovered and “the ONLY one that included the previously undiscovered instruction manual,” Kennedy told IGN.

Incredible. These rare game gems will only increase in value as time passes. It's crazy!

If somebody sells it at a garage sale for 5 dollars, then the customer would be holding a real gold mine here.

Well at least it's free shipping. I hope an astronaut buys it and it costs 250k to ship it to the international space station.
