In movie news, almost all you'll hear about are remakes, remakes, REMAKES!! Some of which are not very good. But there are some that are not that bad. One that I like is... What remakes do you like? Quote Disable Sigs "If you think a 401K is your mother-in-law's bra size, you might be a redneck."

Well, I think the conventional wisdom says the very best REMAKE that ever happened was John Carpenter's Excellent Remake Of The Thing.
 But for a less popular choice, I would go with 12 Monkeys.  Some others: Diabolique Christopher Nolan's Excellent Remake Of Batman The Omega Man Peter Jackson's King Kong The Mechanic A Perfect Murder Disney's Robin Hood |

Yeah, I would definitely put The Thing in that list. Also, like Jrs mentioned, The Fly and War of the Worlds. Both really good films.

I don't consider those types of movies as remakes, i just count them as live action versions.
