As the 80's get farther and farther in the distance of time I try to remember how exciting everything was with the pc starting to get noticed right along with that new craze, the video game. It was fun to be surrounded by all the kids talking about their first time working a new game and trying my hand at the newest local arcade.
Somehow, in my mind, everything I was experiencing got all mixed in with music at the time. The sounds from video games complemented the bands experimenting with electronic sounds. Some resulted in albums where all the sounds were electronic, no actual musical instruments were used.
That's why these old tunes mean so much to me. They're like a teleporter to my younger days when I had all the time in the world to exchange one ear worm for a newer ear worm. Like the song says, "If It's Alright with you Baby, It's Alright with Me". Another cut from the Dumb Waiters album, 1980.
