so i've been having a love/hate relationship with the crash bandicoot n. sane trilogy as of late.
the visuals look great, the levels are designed exactly how i remember them, and the voice acting was well done for the remaster. though as far as all of the polish has been for me, i did have a few grating moments with it that a few other people have already shared.
- the depth perception is a tad tricky to work with in certain places where you move to and from the camera
- the ice physics aren't accurate to how they were in crash 2 and 3
- crash loses his momentum after jumping off of an enemy
- moving the jet ski in different directions feels incredibly floaty compared to the original
they're not too bad to work with once you get the hang of them, but i still felt like i was playing the classic games with different controls.
on another note, there are a handful of glitches that need to get patched. i racked up a bunch of lives in crash 1 and my lives counter went up to 100 instead of the maximum of 99, and a fight with n. brio caused him to spaz out making the boss fight unwinnable until i just ran into him and died to start over.
i just hope that in the future vicarious visions will look into these problems and update the game with a patch soon.
