6559American GladiatorsSpeaking of Larry Csonka, I'm reminded of one of my absolute favorite episodes of MST3K called "The Final Sacrifice", where a young boy is skewered by Mike & The Bots and many references to Larry Csonka are made. Missing from the following montage is the scene where Mike, acting as Troy, asks Rowsdower for "anything with Larry Csonka on it" in the gas station.

Vaporman87Feb 04, 2014View

6553American Gladiators
vkimo wrote :
That video was hilarious. The Gladiators for the most part always acted like arrogant jerks.
-end quote

I think the "seriousness" of the Gladiators was all part of the act. They wanted to portray the events as serious competition, despite the somewhat silly or childlike nature of the "games". I think they did an admirable job of making the case for the events as "sport". But down deep, like while watching 80's wrestling, you just know something about it is not real.
Vaporman87Feb 04, 2014View
