| 48051 | The Café |
Today is a very sad for the Diary of a Wimpy Kid fandom. I found out that sometime recently FunBrain pulled the plug on the original online version that kickstarted the entire franchise.

What a shame. There was a lot of golden content from that edition that we never got to see in the later books. It had become hard to read after FunBrain made several layout changes to their website, but it was still a classic. I was a huge fan of the original series when it debuted online. I remember eagerly counting down to the last entry that officially ended it. I always thought the kids that got into it through the published books were all posers.
| Rick Ace Rhodes | Aug 29, 2021 | ![]() |
| 48050 | U.S. to withdraw from Afghanistan |
I am not a Biden supporter by any means, but in his defense this was going to happen no matter who pulled the trigger. When you invest over 16 years of training and over $80 billion dollars into an army that immeadiately deserts their jobs the second you leave, maybe just maybe they are insolvable problems in the country that no one can fix.

On the plus side, as always the memes from this have been great.

| Rick Ace Rhodes | Aug 29, 2021 | ![]() |

| 48048 | U.S. to withdraw from Afghanistan |
What an absolute cluster----. Why on Earth did this administration choose to exit in this way?
| Vaporman87 | Aug 27, 2021 | ![]() |
| 48047 | U.S. to withdraw from Afghanistan |
This is a far worse tragedy than the fall of Saigon in 1975.

I'll deal with President Biden shortly, right now we have yet more evidence that US ground intelligence is worthless. Military command staff and leaders in Washington DC were receiving garbage information. Our UK and French allies were ignored when their informants were telling a different story from the misleading intelligence US officials were relying on.

The decision to leave Afghanistan was known as early as the first day of the Biden administration, yet no low-key, background efforts to remove US personnel and Afghan support staff was implemented. It was foolish to announce a US withdrawal with a 9/11 end date, in July. Even President Homer Simpson ain't that stupid!

Right now President Biden has demonstrated such poor judgement that I consider him unfit for a second term as our President. Instead of careful planning and wise council, Biden picked September 11th in a display of elementary school level symbolism. Only the escalation of events caused the end date to move to August31st.

| eddstarr | Aug 27, 2021 | ![]() |

| 48044 | Scooby Doo is starting to grow on me again. |
For the love of Hanna-Barbera, Scooby-Doo came along at the perfect time. You know how these things work. That very first episode in September 1969 about the Black Knight was right on the money!

But in the week that followed episode one, word of mouth spread like crazy. By that next Saturday morning, episode two of Scooby-Doo drew an audience rating that broke previous records for a SatAM cartoon. Watching Scooby and the gang go up against the Castle Phantom was a fantastic follow-up that haunted suit of armor from episode one.

And it was the charm of the characters that caught my attention.

| eddstarr | Aug 26, 2021 | ![]() |
