| Article | Vaporman87 | It's not the world, but I brought it to our Facebook page's attention. LOL | Jan 09, 2015
| Article | Vaporman87 | Only Hoju could somehow manage to make Superman work in a women's fashion of the 80's article. LOL I look at all of these fads/items and every one of them I could find in photos of my mom. Every one of them. From the fake nails to the giant jewelry... the photographic evidence is there. On the subject of giant jewelry, this was not something exclusive to women. My dad wore some ridiculous jewelry as well. Bracelets the size of watches made of gold, gold necklaces and rings... gawdy stuff. In fact, he still wears some of the stuff. Such a waste of money in my opinion. | Women's Fashion of the 80s | Jan 12, 2015
| Article | Vaporman87 | I didn't realize that Eric Stoltz and Anthony Edwards made their film debut in FTARH. What an awesome way to start off your career! LOL | Top Sidekick Characters from 80s Movies | Jan 12, 2015
| Article | Vaporman87 | There's also a whole lotta John Cusack "leading man" films here. Makes you realize just how popular he was in the 80's. Also, just how hard it was for him to carry a film without a sidekick. | Top Sidekick Characters from 80s Movies | Jan 12, 2015
| Article | Vaporman87 | Those MoonDreamers remind me of a mix of Jem and Strawberry Shortcake! As though Strawberry decided to take on Jem's style. I recall my sister owning the Pie Man figure, and that being the only one I would actually play with if I joined her. She also owned a bunch of 2 or 3 inch figurines that fit into a case that resembled a tree, or something like that. I think we actually played more with those than the regular line. As far as "Gorgeous Creatures" goes, I have a feeling they would be popular these days. Seems like it's a big thing to be into anthropomorphic animals... and not always in a good way. Yeesh. On Mermista's feet... have you tried using a hair dryer to heat them up, then hold them in position while they cool? That might help some. I actually did that with some of my old Read Along Records that had warped from being in storage. It worked pretty well. Glad you were able to shore up your collection this past year Miss M. About the only retro figure I picked up this year was a MOC Roboto. Everything else I got was from newer lines (MOTUC, Sideshow Collectibles, etc). | Miss M's Top 10 Retro Toys of 2014! | Jan 12, 2015
| Article | Vaporman87 | Yeah. I agree with Hoju. It was nice that in the end, they had you on their minds the whole time. You just didn't know it yet. Yeesh, if I could count how may times I had to listen to Rush Limbaugh in our vehicle, it would blow your mind. LOL. I prefer Wilkow now to Rush, but back in the day, Rush was THE voice on the radio if you were conservative. I REALLY don't like Hannity. He annoys the crap out of me. I'd listen to Thom Hartman (big lib) before I would listen to Hannity. LOL. Actually, I kind of enjoy listening to Thom Hartman even though I am arguing with him through my radio most of the time. He's intelligent and makes a good case for his incorrect political views ;). | My 6th Birthday Party | Jan 14, 2015
| Article | Vaporman87 | @Hoju: Indeed. I'm not sure what we're being this year. The wife hasn't laid down the law on that yet, LOL. But definitely we need a forum thread just for costume pics and discussions! | Miss M's Top 10 Retro Toys of 2014! | Jan 14, 2015
| Article | Vaporman87 | @cbf: I can say that I do miss having a Wendy's salad bar, and that ever since the "Where's The Beef" campaign, the size of the burgers has decreased quite a bit. Food quality though, is still high if you ask me. Especially with the introduction of some of their new gourmet buns. | My 6th Birthday Party | Jan 15, 2015
| Article | Vaporman87 | @Hoju: Ahh. Touche. LOL. Of course, people may be looking for something that smells better than toxic water and dirt so... I'll have the cure for their aromatic ills. | Women's Fashion of the 80s | Jan 15, 2015
| Article | Vaporman87 | I received my helping of Disney Afternoon thanks to my younger brother who enjoyed just about every show in it. By the time it began airing, I was in high school and Disney cartoons (outside of the feature films) were not something I actively sought out to watch. However, my brother did. And what he watched, I inevitably found myself watching along with him. Of the many shows and characters, I think I actually enjoyed Duck Tales the most, followed by Chip 'N Dale's Rescue Rangers. Some of the shows that came later, like Gargoyles, would have probably been my preferred show had I not already been graduated and heading to college. I can also say that my favorite intro song from the Afternoon would be the Gummi Bears intro. "Bouncing here and there and everywhere... high adventure that's beyond compare..." | The Disney Afternoon Revisited | Jan 16, 2015 |
