5456Articleechidna64My friends group were predominantly collectors (I think we didn't fully understand the rules of the game). The Toys R Us held Pokemon TCG tournaments weekly. My goal was just to try to catch-em all. Later on I became a big fan of the Pokemon TCG on the Gameboy Color. That's where I truly learned the mechanics of the game.  Jul 07, 2021View

2018ArticleVaporman87My guess is that with a little less "preaching" the gospel of protecting the environment, Captain Planet could have been something bigger... and might have had increased longevity. The writers tended to focus too much on the lesson, and not enough on developing the show into something entertaining.Overrated shows from my childhoodFeb 18, 2015View
2924ArticleRick Ace RhodesMy hometown had all kinds of stuff like this growing up. I don't know if you ever read them, but the Ghost Investigator books that written by Linda Zimmermann were based out of my hometown (or at least the first few were). I remember in middle school would always get into the Halloween mood by reading those books. All those hauntings and urban legends would always creep us out.Urban Legend visit of my youth-revisitedOct 14, 2015View

3236ArticlemassrealityMy little theft story involved one of those trays with peppermints in them for charity at a Quincy's Steakhouse. It was one of those deals where you just leave a quarter and take a piece of candy. I was around four and just saw the candy sitting there, so I swiped it. When the cashier yelled out, "Hey" I knew I was in trouble, so I took off running to the bathroom. (I would make a horrible thief) Luckily, my parents weren't too hard on me, but they let me know what I did was wrong, made me return the candy, and apologize. 1237ArticleVaporman87My luck with make-up, prosthetics, and other accessories for Halloween was not good at all. Typically I ended up with something far different than what was pictured on the packaging. That was to be expected though, as the images on the packaging are done by teams of professionals. It's when a single person tries to replicate what a team of people achieved that the person realizes just how futile it is to even try. It didn't take me long to realize that I was best sticking with standard masks and clothing.A Little WitchySep 15, 2014View
