A Few Retro Facts About Alice Cooper You May Have Never Knew

 In this article I am going to list a few facts about the Godfather Of Shock Rock, Alice Cooper that you may or may have never known. Here we go:


1. In 1973 Alice Cooper released his own mascara called Whiplash Mascara.

2. Alice Cooper was the driving force for fixing the legendary Hollywood sign in Los Angeles, California.

3. Alice Cooper was friends with Groucho Marx during the late 70's before his death. Groucho even gave him a teddy bear.

4. Alice Cooper and Elton John used to live next door to each other before Alice's house burned down in 1975.

5. The first snake Alice Cooper ever brought onstage was named Kachina and was owned by his drummer at the time Neal Smith.

6. Alice Cooper almost choked to death in 1988 when the gallows trick malfunctioned. 

7. Alice Cooper guested on the Twisted Sister album Come Out And Play on the track Be Chrool To Your Skool.

8. Frank Zappa was the person who originally signed Alice Cooper to a record contract.

9. Alice Cooper also guested on the Icon album Right Between The Eyes on the songs Holy Man's War and Two For The Road.

10. Alice Cooper's real name is Vincent Furnier.


11. The band Dangerous Toys has a song about Alice Cooper called Scared off their debut album title Dangerous Toys released in 1989.

12. When Alice Cooper starred in the movie Sextette in 1978 with co-star Mae West, he said she would constantly hit on him.

13. In the 70's Alice Cooper was in a drinking club called The Hollywood Vampires with John Lennon, Keith Moon, Ringo Starr and others. 

14. The band They Might Be Giants also has a song about Alice Cooper called Why Must I Be Sad? off the album John Henry released in 1994.

15. In 1974 he legally changed his name to Alice Cooper.

16. His album Love It To Death was recalled and airbrushed because of the placement of his thumb in front of his pants because it looked like a penis. It was not done on purpose.

17. He is a huge fan of The Simpsons and one of his dreams is to be on the show.

23. Alice Cooper's first group was called The Earwigs and they competed in a high school talent show.

24. Alice Cooper was once elected Homecoming Queen for the University Of Houston.

25. The original Alice Cooper group consisted of Alice Cooper, Glen Buxton, Dennis Dunaway, Michael Bruce, and Neal Smith.

26. Alice Cooper turned down a role in the movie Breakfast Of Champions in 1976.

27. Alice Cooper was the son of a reverend. 

28. Alice Cooper is featured on the 1975 album A Star is Bought by comedian Albert Brooks on the song A New Beginning.

29. Alice Cooper started golfing in the 70's.

30. Eating Sweets Can Make You Violent was a working title for a few of his albums. 


31. Alice Cooper temporarily lived in George Harrison's house in the 70's.

32. There was a band in Phoenix, Arizona called The Mighty Sphincter who put on their album that Alice Cooper produced it. He did not and were served with cease and desist orders.

33. Another band by the name of The New Manson Family also did this and the same happened.

34. Alice Cooper recorded some vocals for Johnny Cash's cover of Personal Jesus but was not used on the final album version.

35. He has only had one album go to number one on the Billboard Charts and that was Billion Dollar Babies.
