Valentines Over the Years
This is a list of the different Valentines I gave at school over the years.
Kindergarten: I don’t remember very well. I think I had Care Bears.
First Grade: Minnie 'N' Me
I mentioned I liked Minnie 'N' Me in a previous article. I didn't give many of these out, only because this was back when you didn't have to give one to everybody in the class. I was not very popular.
Second Grade: Chip 'N' Dale Rescue Rangers
I was so mad when the teacher’s aide gave the exact same
ones. The Rescue Rangers were my thing!
Third Grade: Tiny Toons
I liked to give Valentines that would be popular with boys and girls and not end up giving something too girly like Barbie ones.
Fourth Grade: Marsupilami
I really like Marsupilami. I loved his cartoons on Raw Toonage and when he got his own spinoff show. I enjoyed reading his comics in Disney Adventures. I even bought a Marsupilami pencil. So naturally I wanted Valentines with his picture on them. Until my friend and neighbor told me that she hated him and his show and that he said "Houba!" too much. From then on I was a closet Marsupilami fan until I moved away to a different city and school. The next year I got a Marsupilami Valentine and the kid who gave it to me said they hated him.
Fifth Grade: Animaniacs
The name on the packaging was kind of misleading. They were only of the Warner Siblings and nobody else from the show.
Sixth Grade: Daisy Kingdom
I bought these the week before Valentine’s Day at the local Thrifty’s. I wasn’t sure how Valentine’s Day was celebrated at the junior high I had just transferred to. I didn't want anything childish like Sesame Street.
Seventh Grade: Pooh
I bought these, but I really wanted Sailor Moon ones instead. Some girl in my P.E. class told me she was going to trade me her Sailor Moon ones for my Pooh ones. She never brought the goods. I did have enough Pooh ones to give to my friends.
Eighth Grade: Rugrats
After a week or so of trying to covertly survey my friends on who their favorite Rugrats character is, so I could give them the one of their favorite. This set had everybody even Suzie and Reptar.
Ninth Grade: Kanto Pokemon
These were the season one Pokemon cards. They mostly feature Ash and Pikachu.
Tenth Grade: Johto Pokemon
No humans on these just Pokemon. They were mostly Johto ones with a few Kanto ones thrown in like Pikachu, psyduck and snorlax.

@Vaporman The ones I remembered most from other classmates were the ones I would get and say "I wish I gotten some (franchise/property)".
@Benjanime I found the pictures on both series of the Pokemon Valentines seemed to be very generic.

I wish I could remember all the valentines I received from classmates through the years. I can barely remember any at all. We received valentines from everyone each year, as opposed to just one classmate.

i think by fifth grade my schools stopped doing the valentines thing, but it was fun seeing all these different franchises with their own cards while it lasted. i definitely remember those pok'emon ones and i could swear that same picture of ash and pikachu was used for one of those scholastic pok'emon books that were just written versions of the anime episodes.
