What were some great child stars who contributed to film and television?

First to the top of my head would be Kurt Russell (obviously not a child for quite some time, but he was a busy bee for Disney in his youth). He ended up with his head on straight, and a very long career in film.

A young Jodie Foster. This is a screenshot from the original Freaky Friday. She sounds like she's older as a kid.

Macaulay Culkin will always be the "Home Alone" kid no matter how old he gets.

@thecrow174 Freaky Friday always confused me, because I totally thought Jody Foster was a boy with that husky voice, since a lot of the boys in Bad News Bears had long hair. But then everybody in the movie was calling her a girl and she played field hockey in that plaid skirt. On a side note, isn't there a scene with a typing class on typewriters? What a time capsule!

There is a scene. I'd probably mess up in that class like Foster did.

I took a typing class on typewriters in high school. I'm a time capsule.

@eddstarr:

True, but I think his acting career was killed when he did Monster Party.
