I was recently reminded of something funny that I remembered being a part of in elementary school.

Some time around the 5th or 6th grade, my friends and I formed a "group" called C.Y.G.A. (Citizens of Young Guardian Avengers)... yeah... don't ask.

Anyway, our mission??? To wander the halls of the school during recess - when we were supposed to be outside. To not get caught, that was the game.

Hands on knees, stomp around cafeteria drooling food chunks and growling.  On a dare.  "All right shakin!  Enough is enough!  Enough is enough!" cried the teacher on duty.  I probably went to detention or something for that.

I hope there was some reward involved, like money... or some item of value. Otherwise, I just feel sad for you.

  Good enough.

Something (not so much funny as just one of those things that really puts you back in that frame of mind of the time) that I fondly recall is when we would finish lunch (in high school) and were SUPPOSED to then head directly to the gymnasium and await the bell to return to our classrooms. We, however, would instead gather in the lobby where there was a pop machine, and get ourselves a pop and just hang out there in the lobby until the bell.

Very rarely were we asked to leave the lobby and get in the gym, mainly because drinks were not allowed in the gym. So, as long as we had pop in our cans, we had reason to be there in the lobby. That became our little "gathering spot" to discuss the days events up to that point, among other things.

Another one was when my friends got the Hall monitor's desk and put it onn top of the Vending machines near the staircase to go up to the entrance (The school I was in at the time was a basement to the Special Ed school I was in) Took the whole day for them to find it and last I checked the people weren't caught. I wish I still had a picture of that.

Another one was a bit more fun with one of the jocks I was acquaintances with found a snake and put it in a Starbursts bag and offered it to the bus driver (While stopped of course) The bus driver chased him to the back of the bus as everyone even the bus aide (Who was in on it too) were laughing hard.

Yikes. I wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of the bus driver's fear induced rage.

I had video on my old phone. It was brilliantly hilarious.

I remember one year in high school, when our boys varsity basketball team was facing our arch rival at home. Tensions were pretty high because both teams were pretty decent at the time, and neither wanted to go back to school the next week as the loser.

I was not there, so I am only relaying what I remember being told to me by students who were. Apparently some fierce fouling began to ruffle the feathers of some players, and then a scuffle began. As the coaches and officials rushed in to break it up, a new scuffle began... between the coaches. Then, chaos ensued. The bleachers emptied, and the court filled up with the crowd. Before it was all settled, our own Superintendent had been punched in the face.

That's all I remember about it. I'm sure there were some charges filed and such, but I don't recall the details beyond those I mentioned above.

I had a pretty severe case of kleptomania in middle school. My friends and I would go on "Jacking Sprees" where we would sneak back into the classrooms during lunch and pretty much clean out desks and backpacks. We had plenty of close calls and one time me and my buddy and I got stuck in a classroom when the janitor came in. We were dead quiet and managed to get out. I think that pretty much ended that for us haha.

I wrote a whole article on me ditching class for RJ that brings back good times.
