Mr Magic

The year was 1989. The Berlin Wall comes down. Movies like Batman and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade ruled the movie theaters. And meanwhile, arcade goers everywhere were spending their hard-earned quarters trying to beat this gem.

TMNT was already ruling animated television and toys. And Konami had its own share of success with games like Castlevania and Contra. You bring TMNT and Konami together, you're sure to get a winner of an arcade game. Going to the arcade was one of the greatest pleasures in the old days. And this game played a huge part in that. There's nothing like a good side-scrolling adventure and this is one of the most well-known. But this isn't the first time we'd see Konami and TMNT together. They'd be back with other titles like The Manhattan Project and Turtles in Time. And of course, there's the NES version of the 1989 arcade game. Check out the video below, grab yourself a slice of pizza, and see why this was, is, and will always be one of the greatest arcade games ever. COWABUNGA!!!!!

He's the marvelous, magical Burger King. He can do most anything.

You didn't need some guy with a plastic face playing the Burger King in the 70s and 80s. No, no, no! The BK people wanted someone to compete with McDonald's Ronald McDonald. And actor Dick Gjonola became that someone. From 1976 through  the late 80s, he appeared in adverisements with characters such as Sir Shake-A-Lot and the Burger King. Let's celebrate Dick and what he's done for Burger King and advertising.
