Several years ago, when I was in vocational school, we took a trip to Plains, GA. On our trip, we visited Jimmy Carter's childhood home and we went to a restaurant and he just happened to be there. He had a couple of guys with him. Secret Service guys, I'm sure. We had our picture taken with him, but I don't have it anymore "If you think a 401K is your mother-in-law's bra size, you might be a redneck."

He was a humble, down-to-earth fellow. Not an attribute we have in presidents anymore. While he wasn't the most effective or consequential of leaders, he was a good representative of how a leader should carry themselves. I'll remember him always for that. You love this signature.

The above photo was taken in 1965 - the year I went to school with white kids for the first time. It turned out to be the most joyful period of my life. Everyone was filled with excitement about going to the Moon and things we would see in the 21st century. The Carters could easily have been the parents of some of my classmates. Maybe that's why I was always eager to go to school everyday - to be with my new friends. |

In 2001, there was a King of the Hill Christmas episode featuring Jimmy Carter. He didn't provide his own voice though. "If you think a 401K is your mother-in-law's bra size, you might be a redneck."

It is weird to live in a world where Bill Clinton is now our earliest still living President. *Insert funny signature here*
