I was not expecting a spiritual sequel to who framed Roger rabbit. Chip N Dale is the biggest surprise of the year with an extensive list of inexplicable cameos from major 80's and 90s cartoon characters, even non-disney characters.

i've seen on twitter posts that peter pan's backstory is based on bobby driscoll's harsh experience with disney, i can't say i was expecting that but yeah, it's awfully dark when you think about it.

Watched it last night, I think I would've enjoyed it more had I watched the show as a kid. It was fun but it did seem like a poor man's Rojer Rabbit and sort of like Detetcive Pikachu as well. Its funny because my daugter has been watching the orignal cartoon on Disney Plus all day. I'm surprised by the vibrant color and animation quality, visually I feel it blows a lot of similar era cartoons out of the water.

Hmmm. I didn't even give this a passing thought, but I'm reconsidering that now.

My sister and I watched it over the weekend. I thought it was fairly good. It is very clearly inspired by Who Framed Roger Rabbit. You can tell that was the angle they were going, let this be the Roger Rabbit for the current generation.

All and all I thought it was okay. I didn't really know anything about the characters before this. I only really knew them for their role in Kingdom Hearts. That and they were just some Disney property I never watched.

It was a lot of fun! There is a "master" cameo in particular you might be interested in

Is it on DVD yet?

I dug it. A surprise for sure. Totally agree with the Roger Rabbit comparison. They even have him cameo and also briefly show a tube of "dip," which I guess places them in the same universe? 

I still haven't heard about a DVD release date, but from what I heard a release is likely.
