These greedy land developers want to destroy an old apartment building, but aliens help the unhappy tenants defeat them.
Good 80s fantasy flick imo.

Talk about a movie treasure, *batteries not included is one of those 80's movie that got press because it starred my favorite couple, Hume Cronyn and Jessica Tandy! When Tandy & Cronyn agree to do a movie, you know it's something special. And that also goes for Steven Spielburg as well, LOL! |

This is one of those '80s movies that I feel fairly confident I watched in theaters. This, Clue, and Ghostbusters. You love this signature.

Whoa, i actually JUST watched this last week. I've of course seen it numerous times. Very sad start, and even a bit meloncholy throughout, but heartwarming and fun too. Gotta agree about Hume Cronyn and Jessica Tandy too.
Vaporman, interesting you mention about theaters. I was thinking the other day about how my memory of what moveis I actually saw in theaters is a little hazy. There are a bunch I know I saw in theaters for sure (Edward Scissor Hands, Back to the Future...I think it was the second one, Wayne's World, etc), and then others I'm really just not sure about. I do have a box of movie theater tickets that date back to the 90s (but not as far as the 80s) which helps. :-p

Now that you mentioned it onipar, my last theater movie was the year 2010 to see an independent movie release about a dysfunctional family comedy called, "The Family Tree", premiered as part of the 2010 Seattle International Film Festival. I still have my "press kit" from the meet & greet with the fim's director, Vivi Friedman. |

The theme is certainly a good, swingin' tune. RIP James Horner.
