What are your thoughts on the "remake"?

I never watched it. But I've heard both compliments and criticisms.

But as with most "remakes" from the 80's and 90's, I don't see the need.

It's alright. It has its moments. But if you're into horror, you're better off seeing the original.

Freddy was always cooler than Jason where I grew up. There might be some debate, but Freddy always won...handily.

New Nightmare was the first movie I saw that really wowed me with special effects. Like, to the point where I was thinking "holy crap, how did they DO that?" Of course, now it's all just "eh, computers."

Freddy is the man! I always preferred Freddy over the other slashers. He's a thinking man's killer.

Didn't care for that REMAKE though

I wonder what Robert Englund thought of his Freddy replacement.

According to wikkerpedia, he approved.
