Seems strange to be quarntined at home on my birthday. Let's go back to the 50's.



It was my 4th grade teacher who told us the story of Polio. Parents lived in fear of polio because it was a virus that caused incurable paralysis in children - with alarming speed.



With funding from the March of Dimes, Dr. Jonas Salk was able to conduct large scale testing trials for his newly developed live polio vaccine.
