If you're like me and you find the looks of the new mid-engined Corvette to be a little odd - take a gander at this video review.

Cars.com spent time at a Chevrolet test track press event in the base-level LT1 Stingray C8. Not many reviews on the cheapest Vette in the lineup, but the Stingray in white looks good to me with the optional bright wheels.

Talk of a mid-engine Corvette goes waay back to the 1960's. By 1970 many car magazines featured pictures of the "latest" mid-engine concepts. Many were just empty shells with no running gear.

The 1973 Aerovette was so well executed that many car crazy guys, like me, were sure that Chevy would have a mid-engine Vette by the end of the 70's.

At least a few Aerovettes are now in the hands of collectors, most with their 4-unit rotary engines swapped out for a small-block V8.
