Just wanted to know how to place youtube vids onto articles is it the hyperlink tool button so you can click on it on the preview.

on youtube, click on the video you want, then click share and then embed, copy the embed code and on your article, click on the text box where exactly you want to put it, then click the little movie reel button at the end that has the embed video feature, then paste the embedded video URL and click submit and it should place the video where you wanted it.

Since the text editor change, there are currently no video or image upload buttons. That will change in the near future when video embed, YouTube, and image upload buttons are installed.
