We finally have a proper title and trailer for Star Wars Episode 9-

First, this looks like a rebuke of The Last Jedi which myself and a vocal majority of Star Wars fans hated over the handling of the Skywalker saga.

Second, this all but confirms that Rey is a Skywalker. The only question, is if she is the daughter of Luke or Leia?

Lastly, what's up with the Emperor at the end?

It's nice that they are trying to undo some of the damage that was done with The Last Jedi, but I feel like it's permanent at this point. Disney's handling of Star Wars has been incredibly poor. The entire franchise has suffered under their care. Even if we get a decent film, it's not going to make up for everything bad that came before it.

I agree, it feels like too little too late.

I have a prediction for Episode IX...

J.J. Abrams made a statement that upon seeing film, the audience will find out the "intended meaning" of Rise of the Skywalker.

I think that the title actually refers to Anakin Skywalker and that by the end of the film they will have cloned or resurrected Darth Vader.

If they are bringing back the Emperor in some fashion there is not limit. Also, they brought back Vader for Rogue One so why not here?

Kylo Ren will either become a vessel for Darth Vader or be killed by him thus completing Kylo's arc.

my parents will undoubtedly want to go see it, after all they aren't really fazed by the prequels, especially the yawn-inducing romance scene in episode II where the cardboard acting is at its finest, but i'll give it the benefit of the doubt and watch it anyway. i'm just hoping that enough effort is put into it to call in a finale.

Hey, at least we also have a new Star Wars game to look forward to. They can't possibly screw that up again, right?

...right?

The women of New Vegas ask me a lot if there's a Mrs. New Vegas. Well, of course there is! You're her. And you're still just as perfect as the day we met.

i still cringe a little on the inside when i see EA these days, but hey, a focus on singleplayer sounds like a good direction for them.

I too am curious as to what the meaning of the title is and what the Emperor's chuckle at the end is foreshadowing.
